Elementary School
It has been my privilege to have been associated with Denbigh Baptist Christian School since 1976. My parents felt strongly enough about the value of Christian education that they relocated the family to Newport News for the express purpose of enrolling my sister and me in DBCS. As a member of the first graduating class (1980), I have seen Denbigh grow from a senior class of eight to a bustling, vibrant school that is meeting the needs of a large number of young people every year.
We understand that Denbigh might not be for everyone, but we do believe that DBCS is a welcoming, Christ-centered, family environment that will provide a safe place for your elementary child to grow in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Our elementary teachers are loving, caring, knowledgeable, highly skilled professionals who will nurture and challenge your student.
I would encourage you to stop by and visit us some time. Take a tour of the campus and experience what I have had the joy of being a part of for over 30 years.

Curriculum
Instead of committing exclusively to one publisher, DBCS seeks to select the strongest curriculum in each academic area drawing from A Beka, ACSI, and BJU publications
Resources
To enrich the academic experience, students receive one 45-minute session each of Art, Music, and P.E. per week and one session each of Computer and Library every other week.
Activities
Chapel services once a week, Recess every day, Jump Club for our 3rd - 5th graders, Stick Ministry for our 5th graders, Intramural sports...our elementary students are seldom bored!
Extended Care
DBCS also offers before and after school care, a ministry that we call Extended Care. Quality care allows students to continue to develop socially, physically, and academically.
